■Abstract
A growing body of studies have affirmed that undergraduate research is a ‘high impact practice’ which can improve students’ learning performance. Based on the data from 2015-2018 China College Student Survey (CCSS), this paper uses propensity score matching (PSM) method to explore the influence of research activities on undergraduates’ learning engagement by addressing two questions: First, what effects do different research activities have on Chinese undergraduates’ learning engagement? Second, what research activities play relatively significant roles under different types of educational contexts including institutions, majors and grades?
Keywords: undergraduate research; learning engagement
