Professor Huang’s commentary was published in “University World News”

We are pleased to announce that a commentary by Professor Huang Futao was published in “University World News” on 4 March 2026.

In his article, “Let’s move on from Cold War divisions in international HE,” Professor Huang examines the future of international cooperation in higher education amid the shifting global landscape, where research capacity in Asia and the Global South continues to grow.
He argues for moving beyond Cold War–style binary framings—such as the divide between the “democratic West” and “authoritarian China”—and highlights the importance of diversity and mutual learning within an increasingly multipolar global higher education system.
