Since its establishment in September 2019, the National Information Center for Academic Recognition Japan (NIC-Japan) has served as a NIC based on the Tokyo Convention and the Global Convention, providing information to facilitate the smooth recognition of higher education qualifications and to enhance the international mobility of students and researchers.<\/p>\n
As part of these efforts, NIC-Japan has been holding the “NIC-Japan Seminar Series” since 2021. In this series, experts from Japan and overseas discuss various topics related to recognition of foreign qualifications, including education systems and qualification assessment practices.<\/p>\n
As the first seminar of FY2026, we will focus on the Myanmar\u2019s education system and higher education qualifications. While the number of students from Myanmar studying in Japan has been increasing, information about Myanmar\u2019s education system remains limited in Japan. Many participants in our previous seminars have expressed interest in this topic and requested that we hold a seminar on Myanmar.<\/p>\n
The seminar will feature Professor Emeritus Hiromitsu Muta of the Tokyo Institute of Technology as our guest speaker. Professor Muta has been involved in JICA\u2019s education improvement project in the Republic of the Union of Myanmar since 2013 and served as an Education Policy Advisor at the Ministry of Education from 2014 to 2022. He continues to conduct research on the current state of education in Myanmar. Drawing on his extensive research and professional experience, Professor Muta will deliver a lecture based on his specialized expertise, covering topics such as Myanmar\u2019s education system\u2014including the higher education system, higher education qualifications, and university admission systems\u2014as well as mechanisms for quality assurance in higher education.<\/p>\n
We warmly welcome the participation of those involved in admissions review or international affairs at higher education institutions, as well as anyone interested in Myanmar\u2019s education system.<\/p>\n
